Fernie Lodging
Sleeping Beneath the Stars
It’s not an opinion; camping in the alpine beauty of the Canadian Rockies that keep watch over the historic mountain town of Fernie is just something everyone needs to do. But not everyone wants to spend more than a night or two with bugs in the sleeping bags, spiders crawling across the top of the tent, ants trying to share our cookouts, or the nipping of sawflies. And that’s all right, because our mountain and nature resort in Fernie is a perfect basecamp for those who want to camp but want the tether of luxury, comfort, and convenience when they’re ready to get out of the woods.
The Canadian Rockies
The mountains that rise alongside the Elk Valley offer opportunities for different kinds of outdoor activities in Fernie. From RV parks to Mount Fernie Provincial Campground, to backcountry camping via hiking or biking, the alpine beauty just beyond your door at The Qanuk offers outdoor opportunities for the kind of adventure that suits you. You can hike from one pristine mountain lake to another, stopping along the way to camp and converse with the stars. You’ll need to reserve your site when staying at an established campground or RV park.
For seasoned explorers who love the crisp adventure of winter camping, December to March are the best months to sleep beneath the Northern Lights, beyond the intrusion of artificial light. After a few nights in the white of winter, you’ll enjoy returning to the lodging in Fernie at the Qanuk to warm yourself in the hot tub before heading off to town for fine eats and a few pints, and a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed.
Home Away From Home
When you’re ready to get back indoors, The Qanuk will be waiting with all the luxurious amenities of home, ample three-bedroom space for several families or a company gathering. You’ll have access to a full kitchen, living room and dining room, and a 1,200-square-foot recreation area that opens to an outdoor patio and 6-person hot tub.
